The Opportunity
The Vice President of Finance / Corporate Controller will lead the company’s financial operations across a growing multi-entity platform. This is a hands-on, highly visible role responsible for accounting, reporting, budgeting, and systems integration, while supporting ongoing M&A activity and the development of scalable financial infrastructure.
This position is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in fast-moving, acquisitive environments, brings a strong technical foundation in accounting and ERP systems, and enjoys working closely with both executive leadership and local operating teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and financial transparency.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting, consolidations, and reporting for the holding company and portfolio of operating entities.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly close, financial statements, and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage the corporate budgeting and forecasting process across multiple business units.
Systems, Processes & Controls
- Lead ERP and financial system integrations across acquired entities; implement and standardize controls and procedures to support scale.
- Drive automation, efficiency, and accuracy in reporting, leveraging modern tools such as Sage Intacct Construction, Viewpoint, or CMiC.
- Partner with IT and operations to ensure data integrity and consistent financial processes across all business units.
M&A and Integration
- Support ongoing acquisitions, including due diligence, onboarding of acquired businesses, and post-close integration of systems and reporting structures.
- Assist in building financial playbooks and templates for consistent rollout across new acquisitions.
Business Partnership & Leadership
- Serve as a trusted financial partner to the CEO and portfolio leadership teams.
- Provide actionable insights on performance, margin analysis, job costing, and cash flow management.
- Mentor and develop a lean accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Board and Investor Support
- Support CEO and CFO in preparing consolidated reports, dashboards, and key metrics for investors and board presentations.
- Contribute to establishing KPIs and dashboards that drive visibility into financial and operational performance.
Ideal Profile:
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership, including Controller or VP Finance experience within construction, contracting, or field services industries
- Deep understanding of construction accounting, including WIP, job costing, and project-based revenue recognition.
- Proven ability to manage multi-entity consolidations and financial reporting in private equity or platform settings.
- Hands-on operator with strong technical systems knowledge (ERP, Adaptive, Excel modeling).
- Experienced in M&A integration and post-acquisition process standardization.
- CPA or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both strategic and executional capacities.
